The Truth About Carbs and Energy

Carbs get a bad rap sometimes, but they’re my body’s primary fuel source. I eat them strategically—before workouts, I load up with complex carbs like oats or sweet potatoes to power through.

Carbs also help with recovery by refilling glycogen stores. I avoid simple sugars most of the time but never demonize carbs. Balance is the key. When I time carbs right, my energy stays steady, and performance improves.
